What The After Group does—and does not do.

The After Group provides private, non-emergency recovery navigation and continuity support for adults and families in Iowa.

Services may include

• Education and family guidance
• Referral and provider coordination
• Rapid coordination of access to independent assessment services
• Treatment-access and placement navigation
• Questions and preparation for provider conversations
• Discharge preparation and post-treatment continuity
• Education about opioid and alcohol treatment systems and medication-supported treatment pathways

Services do not include

• Diagnosis or clinical assessment
• ASAM level-of-care determination
• Psychotherapy, counseling, or outpatient treatment
• Medical detoxification
• Prescribing, dispensing, recommending, or managing medication
• Legal representation or legal advice
• Emergency, crisis, or 24-hour response

Independent providers

Clinical assessments, diagnoses, admission decisions, medication decisions, and treatment are provided by independent licensed professionals or organizations. The After Group does not control provider availability or guarantee placement or outcomes.

Emergency resources

If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health or substance-use crisis, call or text 988. The After Group is not an emergency service.

Availability

Appointments are generally available Tuesday through Thursday from 5–10 PM, Friday from 5–8 PM, and during limited scheduled weekend times. Availability is not continuous or guaranteed.
