Substance-use evaluation after an OWI
Depending on the circumstances, an Iowa OWI can involve an approved substance-use disorder evaluation and treatment or rehabilitation requirements. If an evaluation is required, I can help identify an appropriate authorized provider and help you understand what happens after the evaluation.

I know Iowa’s treatment system well and can often help narrow appropriate options quickly when timing matters. I do not promise admission or special access; treatment providers make their own clinical and admission decisions.

Medication treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders is one of my strongest specialty areas. I can help you understand how Iowa programs use medications such as methadone, buprenorphine and buprenorphine-naloxone (Suboxone), and naltrexone or extended-release naltrexone (Vivitrol).
I do not prescribe medication or determine which medication is appropriate. Prescribing and medical decisions remain with the treating clinician.
The legal issue may be the trigger. The support may need to continue beyond it.
